Blue Shop Gallery’s Works on Paper 5 goes live, 7th May 2023

The ever anticipated WOP 5 launch is here and we wanted to touch upon Isobel’s 4 pieces that have been selected by Ocki and her Blue Shop team

“This collection of works on paper are the building blocks for my new series of paintings ‘August Showers’. The collection of drawings begin to address the strange feeling of dread being guest at even the fondest of moments and the idea of inevitable timeline progressions, marked only by the ever changing seasonal landscapes of where I reside. The pieces are an amalgamation of feelings surrounding worry, tranquility and comfort, recognising that the acknowledgement of seasonal change can be the thing that not only calms and comforts but also fills you with dread. These works on paper unpack this confusing collision of delight and despair in narrating the journey of an individual as they come to terms with no longer just observing from the window but also now being thrust into the arms of what is depicted before them too” -Isobel Hill
